RU’s NCCER – Parnership Program
Rhema University has formed a partnership with Florida Training Services, Inc (FTS). FTS provides Apprenticeship consulting throughout the State of Forida by working with many industries to help them enhance or create Registered Apprenticeship programs.
What is NCCER?
NCCER (National Center for Construction Education and Research) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to developing standardized, industry-driven training and credentialing programs for the construction and skilled trades industry. Its mission is to build a safe, productive, and sustainable workforce by providing high-quality education that aligns directly with the needs of employers. NCCER credentials are nationally recognized and portable, allowing individuals to carry their certifications across employers, unions, and apprenticeship programs without retraining. This portability helps workers maintain career mobility while ensuring employers can trust the consistency and quality of training.
NCCER’s curriculum is competency-based, meaning participants must demonstrate both technical knowledge and hands-on skills to earn credentials. Training emphasizes real-world application, safety standards, and professional expectations within the construction industry. By combining classroom instruction with practical experience, NCCER programs prepare individuals for long-term success in skilled trades careers. These programs also support workforce development initiatives by creating clear pathways to employment, advancement, and continued education within the construction field.
The NCCER YouthBuild Program is a comprehensive workforce development initiative designed to prepare young adults for careers in the construction industry through a combination of nationally recognized training, hands-on learning, and leadership development. The program specifically serves individuals who have little to no prior exposure to construction or skilled trades, making it an accessible entry point for those seeking new career pathways. Participants receive industry-aligned instruction that builds foundational technical skills while also emphasizing workplace readiness, safety, and professionalism. In addition to skill development, the program fosters personal growth by promoting responsibility, teamwork, and leadership, which are essential for long-term success in the workforce. By connecting education with practical experience, the NCCER YouthBuild Program functions as both a training platform and a bridge to sustainable employment, registered apprenticeships, and continued postsecondary education opportunities.
