In 2024, the organization completed a strategic restructuring and obtained federal tax-exempt status as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, strengthening its governance, financial infrastructure, and capacity to pursue federal, state, and private funding opportunities.
RIFM is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes. Its mission is to improve the lives of U.S. veterans, women, and other vulnerable populations by addressing educational, workforce, emotional, and personal development needs through evidence-informed programming, strategic partnerships, and community engagement. The organization’s programs emphasize self-sufficiency, emotional intelligence, leadership development, workforce readiness, and employment preparation while helping participants overcome barriers to economic opportunity.
For more than 20 years, RIFM has trained and assisted women in developing workforce readiness skills, leadership competencies, and employment opportunities through community-based education, mentoring, coaching, career planning, and supportive services. These experiences provide a strong foundation for implementing the proposed WANTO initiative in collaboration with Registered Apprenticeship sponsors, employers, workforce agencies, CareerSource Broward, Florida Training Services, and community partners.
